Are you okay? You seemed very upset and unwilling to be inside that puppet.
[ And she pauses as she considers the words she's written so far. It really is one thing to be inside a puppeteer's puppet willingly and another entirely for the case to be the opposite. That, and the full moon had only just passed without sight or sound of Shukaku. As far as she knows, things should have been calm, considering. Even so, chakra chains and "ya know"? She's never heard him say something like that. ]
You didn't seem like yourself. I don't think I was imagining that. It was strange.
A response would be appreciated as soon as you can manage it. I realize you may be occupied.
[ How much can he really say? This is private, but if the higher-ups of Suna discover that their intractable and historically volatile jinchuuriki can be switched, even temporarily, with another host mind, what would stop them from doing it themselves? A new host without the pain of finding a new body. He might be chronically paranoid, but there are scars across Suna from the very real source of that paranoia. And if she told anyone, it would leak.
So the vital question is, does he trust her with his life? Coming down from the emotional drama of Kushina and her bond with the Fourth Hokage, he's really too drained to even consider that he couldn't. ]
You weren't imagining it. I was attacked by a foreign shinobi using a new kind of mindjacking technique seal outside the village. I'm unharmed and the seal is temporary. I've sought counsel with Whirlpool's Lady Kushina, as she has experience with this seal.
Are you unhurt? I wasn't myself today, but I should apologise.
Don't mention this to anyone. Please. See you soon,
Gaara

[ When she comes upon the missive issued in turn, everything is put on hold. The sand dumplings she's acquired are temporarily pushed aside in favor of reading. Eyes widening slightly, she doubles back to read it again, a frown complementing slightly furrowed brows. Mind transference? Through seals? Even if temporary, that's a brilliant achievement she would be much more pleased to hear about if not for the use of it. An attack on any Suna native by a foreigner is a grievous offense that's made worse still by the 'who' in this situation, and not just for politics. Whoever the assailant was had to have known who Gaara was and if that's the case... not only that, but who had he been switched with? Why? Did it have something to do with Shukaku? How did the switch even affect the tailed beast? How did it affect Gaara? Did they mean to cause some international incident? It couldn't have been a job from the inside, right? Suna didn't have that much skill in the seal arts as far as she knew. Does the kazekage know?
Her thoughts are running a million miles a minute, question after question after question popping into place that sees her eyes narrowing. Everything certainly made a bit more sense now by way of Kankuro and Temari's actions in subduing Gaara. No, in subduing Gaara's body. They had likely been alerted and acted to prevent an incident, something she realizes her presence may have complicated at the time, but -- and her expressions softens in terms of severity -- the important thing right now is that Gaara is unharmed. Wherever he wound up, in whatever body, he's unharmed. Of course, that won't save the foreign shinobi responsible for the assault should she ever get her hands on them. That the seal is temporary is a relief, however, and Lady Kushina... ah, but that sees her shift just slightly in her seat for her familiarity with the name. If that woman is involved, the seal portion of the matter should be much more easily resolved and without undue movements that may arouse suspicion.
Letting out a breath she hadn't known she had been holding, Kazue moves to pen her response, a moment given to herself for the time it takes to collect the pen from Takkun's belly. ]
Gaara-sama,
You have my word that I won't mention this to anyone. You have no reason to apologize either. You aren't the one at fault. Neither you or that other person are to blame for this situation if they were similarly assaulted and subjected to this new seal.
I'm glad you're unharmed.
[ And she pauses as she rereads those words, blinking at them. She is. More than that, though, despite the anger that bubbled up with severity for this situation -- or should it be in addition to? More than that, though, she feels odd, like some great weight had lifted and it sees her rather suddenly uncertain. Giving her head a shake, she puts her pen to the scroll again. Asking his location, let alone who exactly he switched with if he knows, is out of the question for his safety and that of the other person, but at the very least, she should be able to put one to him momentarily. ]
I am also unharmed.
How long do you think it will take for the seal to give way? And do you remember exactly where the attack occurred? I may be able to find something if I go there.
